This project aims to showcase the epidemic of absurdly long video essays that have been sweeping the internet. Throughout the project, we will examine how the length of the video essay determines its quality. For example, is most of the video essay engaging commentary and analysis, or is it simply a summary of the chosen topic? We will also discuss why there are so many of these video essays, their goals, and how audiences react to them. While the final project will not incorporate any AI imagery, this visual montage does. The AI image in question depicts a man showing great interest in something while others around him are bored to death. This showcases a topic we want to discuss in our final project. That being how many long video essays only appeal to a small number of people, while other’s couldn’t care less.
